Sleep

Sleep is what everyone needs and can't live without. Although it seems that many people rarely get enough of it. I know that people are able to choose when they can go to bed, but it doesn't help if you're lying in bed and you can't fall asleep. So you spent an hour or two tossing and turning, and that hour or two that you spent tossing and turning could've been used for something else. Although when we, college kids and many teenagers, feel tired its already very late and many times we have to wake up the next day early. Never allowing anyone suffiecent sleep.

Take me for example, since I've got to college I've been staying up to about 3-4am and having to wake up sometime in the morning. I could go to sleep early, but I just end up not sleeping for a long while and when I do finally fall asleep its already 3amish. So I could've just stayed up and not have to toss and turn in bed.

Anyways, people rarely get enough sleep so that they do not feel tired the next day. Naps can only help so much, since the nap helps to rejuvenate one for a while, but it wears off. According to statistics and stuff it seems that people need at least 7-8 hours of sleep. However, I don't think that this is enough sleep for college kids and teenagers. I think we need at least 10 hours of sleep so we don't feel tired during the day. So during times when there's no school everyone sleeps for hours on end. This does well to help keep people from being tired. Although the only conseqence of this is that most of the day is lost when one sleeps for so long. Anyways people need more sleep, but the circumstances never allow for people to get enough of it. So people are almost always tired during the day.

Spring Break...Over?!?

Wow spring break is over for me. The time just flew on by. Its incredible how quickly spring break went by for me. Since there's about 168 hours in a week of spring break. Now those 168 hours have just flown by. Oh well, at least I had tons of fun over spring break. Let's see if I can recap on what I've done this past week.

-watched a couple of movies
-hung out with friends
-got to reflect and think about stuff
-got lots of sleep
-played lots of video and computer games
-went snowboarding
-practiced guitar

I did all of these things and I managed to use up 168 hours.

Changes

Change...something that everyone experiences and observes throughout life. Change can bring either good or bad. With change there are whole new perspectives and mindsets. Even though people feel that they are impervious to change, lets face it as time progresses people eventually change. Whether it be a subtle gradual change or a sharp obvious change.

Since the start of this year when everyone went off to their respective colleges I feel that we have all changed in some way shape or form. I believe that the cause for this change that occurred was due to the anonymity that is created because everyone is in a new place where they do not have a reputation yet. So they can start off with a clean slate and develop a reputation or perception of themselves. Since during high school and jr. high everyone is labeled with a reputation and it sticks all throughout until college. With this anonymity people are able to change the way they were perceived in jr and high school.

For example, I was always the shy nice guy in jr. and high school. When I got to college I decided to change myself so that I was not as shy as I was in high school. The way I went about changing myself was I would force myself to socialize with people in my hall. Eventually this paid off and I'm not as shy anymore as I was in high school and I think I'm a little more confident in myself than I was before, and plus I got to meet a lot of new friends.

So change will eventually take place there's no stopping it from happening. Trying to resist change is futile since everyone will eventually undergo change. Everyone changes, either for the better or worse, but everyone does change.

Spring Break

Yay! Spring Break is here! Now I can finally catch up on a lot of sleep that I've lost because of school. Here's a tentative check list of what I should do over spring break in no particular order:

-hang out with friends (need to hang out with a lot of people lot of catching up to do :D)
-clean up room and desk
-get job apps so I can get some work over summer
-sleep
-reflect
-write some more poems
-work on abs
there's probably more that I want to do, I just can't think of it at the moment.

On another note with the advent of spring break I found just how quickly time seems to have pasted since school started. It seemed no long ago that it was winter break, and I remember saying when winter break was ending that in no time spring break will come, and it has.

Spring break can be a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing about spring break is that there's no school, no homework, and no tests to worry about until next quarter. The bad thing is that with so much extra free time it will be difficult for one to complete all the tasks that they have set that they want to do. Another potential bad thing is boredom, but most people rarely let it bother them. Anyways I'm gonna be wrapping this up cuz I'm getting tired and I'm dozing off. Later

Six Flags Trip

Lot of stuff happening over the weekend, or rather on Saturday.

Anyways my weekend sort of went like this:

Friday:
Hmmm...can't remember much besides that went to dinner at AI cafeteria...I think watched tv/movies on tv in Cat, Tiffany, and Sami's room. Friday seems too much of a blur to remember Then slept over in their room so that Cat, Sami, and I could all wake up in time for the Six Flags trip on Saturday. I think I fell asleep sometime around 2 or 3am?

Saturday:
Woke up around 7:15am, but I didn't get up until around 7:25am. Had to hurry and wash up and change to get ready for the Six Flags trip since we were gonna leave at 7:45am. Once everyone, Cat, Sami, and I were all ready we went down to the lobby and signed in and waited for the rest of the people who signed up to arrive. Once everyone arrived we all walked over to the parking lot to get on the bus to go to Six Flags. For the bus ride to keep us busy the PC's, program coordinators, gave us word searches to do. I did it and then I took a nap until we got to Six Flags. When we got to Six Flags and were waiting to go in I was sort of nervous since I knew that we'd be riding a lot of roller costers and I'm kind of scared of roller costers. Anyway, once we got into the park the first ride we went on was Goliath. The line was really really short all we had to do was just walk through the long way leading up to the ride, but once we got up there we immediatly got on the ride. I was really really nervous since this looked like a very large roller coster. The thing I don't like about roller costers is the first big drop that there is at the beginning, and Goliath had a very big drop about 255ft drop to be exact. I was freakin scared during the first drop and after that it wasn't so bad. After the first time on Goliath we decided to go on it a second time, which kind of made me even more scared and nervous since I thought we were finished after that roller coster. The second time around wasn't so bad since I kinda knew what to expect but it was still scary. Oh yeah, and apparently I make a really funny roller coster face, according to the picture that was taken on one of the drops on Goliath. And Cat and Sami just had to buy it :P. I guess if you want to see that funny picture you could let me know since and I can probably send it to you once I get it from Sami or Cat. After our second ride on Goliath my stomach and my head kind of felt a little funny.
After Goliath we went on Batman the ride and the Riddler's Revenge, which weren't as bad as Goliath. Unfortunately, there were a lot of loops in those rides and I don't like loops >_<. Although after those two rides I sort of felt like throwing up. So we decided to take a short break for lunch and to let rest after riding those roller costers. For lunch we had turkey legs and dip and dots which was very good. After lunch we took a short rest to let the food digest so it wouldn't come back up after a roller coster. I took a short nap on one of those ledges where there are trees, but when I woke up both Sami and Cat were gone I panicked at first then I got up and saw they were hiding on the other side of me :P.
Then we decided to go on the Roaring Rapids. The first time through I barely got wet, so me and Cat went on it a second time and that time I got competely soaked. After Roaring Rapids we decided to ride X. So we walked over there and waited in line for about an hour and a half maybe. That was the longest hour and a half in my life, cuz anywhere in the line you could see the first drop and it looked almost like a 90 degree drop. On top of that the car that you're sitting in turns so that your facing downward as you go down. So I guess I was getting very anxious at the suspense because I wanted to get on the ride and get it over with. When we finally got on the ride I was a nervous wreck and clung to the harness that was around me. The first drop was not as bad as I thought it would be, but it still was very scary just not as scary as Goliath. After we got off of Goliath we had to get back to the front of the park since we were supposed to leave at 5:30. Then we got on the bus and then got back to UCR. When we got back we changed our clothes and then we just fell asleep since we were so tired from a long day of fun.

Sunday:
Don't remember much except studying for my bio lab final :\.

Anyways this was a good break from school, now back to school...only one more week before finals ahhhh!

Time

Time...something that exists in this world to keep track of how much or how long a day is.

Everyone has their own perception of time. To the procrastinators there is not enough time in the world. To the people expecting events time lasts too long. How when one is doing something fun time passes so quickly. Whereas time slows to a crawl when something tedious is being done. For me time seems to have occasional lapses where I lose track of what happened. For example its already the nineth week of the winter quarter. Time just seemed to fly by so quickly. It all seems like a blur to me.

My perception of time is that there is not enough of it. Not enough of it to effectively enjoy life. Since there are some moments in my life that I wish that there was more time so that I could just enjoy them a little bit longer. Since those enjoyable moments are hard to come by, I just want to make them last as long as possible so that I can enjoy it a little more. I'm sure that there are others out there who feel the same. These enjoyable moments are the main things that I'm able to remember out of the whole blur of this quarter.

Anyways...I'm posting at this hour instead of going to sleep to wake up for my 8am class. There needs to be more hours in a day.
