Summer and School...
Well summer has come and gone... With many things done and many things still left undone. Its kinda funny how whenever people are in school that they wish so much for it to be summer/days off so that they can have extra time. Yet when people do get that extra time it seems that its too much extra time since most people get bored. Due to the fact that one doesn't get to see their friends that they saw during the school year and that it seems that almost everyone is either at home waiting for someone to call them or working or sleeping. Either way summer always feels too short because with the things that are left undone and to be done another summer, which one hopes that those things do get done so that it doesn't carry over into the next few summers.
For me my summer has seem to be fulfilling however there are a few things that I was unable to do. Whenever I don't get to do something that I wanted to do over the summer it sorta leaves me feeling kinda empty. I guess the reason for this may be that its something that I didn't get to do and now its too late. I suppose all I can do is just wait and hope that next summer I can complete what I want to do.
Anyway, like I said summer is over and school is going to start soon. I got an apartment, it isn't the apartment that I planned to get last year but its pretty good. Although the bedrooms are kinda small since I'm not sure if there'll be room to put 2 desks in and I need a desk for my compy. So hopefully me and Aaron can arrange our room so that we have enough space to fit 2 desks. The things that are in my apartment so far are: some beds, a microwave, some utensils, some plates and bowels, couple chairs, and random stuff.
Apartment life is going to be a whole new experience compared to dorming last year. Since we have to cook our own food and my friends seem to be a little more spread out. Although I think it will work out and it'll be fun. School starts this Thursday, so hopefully i'm ready for it.
Naps...
Naps are quite a wonderful thing if you think about it. Since if your feeling tired from a long tiresome day naps help to make you feel refreshed. Naps can also help re-energize you if you had little or no sleep the night before. However, the only downside to naps are the amount of time you take for your nap. For example, if you take a 2 or 3 hour nap then thats 2 or 3 hours that you could've been doing something. Although, if you don't mind spending a couple hours for some extra sleep then I guess thats not a bad thing.
Sorry to my readers for having to put you through such a nonsensical post but I just felt like posting about naps since I took a four hour nap today.
Bad day....bad day....
Bad day today, well for anyone who doesn't want to hear me rant about something then you can just not read this post. For anyone who is concerned you may read on I suppose.
Isn't it great how schools love to screw with you? Well UCR just screwed me. Since today I was supposed to check into my apartments. Unfortunately, my name was not on the list of people who were assigned to the apartments. So I got sent to the RSO, I figured that it would probably take a little while to clear up. So I'm waiting in the RSO and giving them my information so they can look up my files and stuff. About an hour later, since they couldnt' find anything, the RSO staff sent me to the Housing Services. So I walk over to the Housing Services building and talk to someone there and they tell me to sit and wait while they look over my files. I wait about another hour, hour and a half until they come and tell me that I didn't turn in my notice of acceptance for the apartment and that I did not get the apartment. At this point I'm confused and frustrated since I distinctly remember turning in my notice of acceptance cause I went with my friend, Aaron who was going to be my roomate, to turn in everything.
Now I explain to them that I did turn in my paperwork since I remember that day cause my picture id wasn't good enough so they had to redo it. After telling them that they went back to looking up all my files again. So now I'm waiting and its around 4 and then they come back and tell me that I still did not turn it in. I tell them again that I'm positive that I turned it in. Then they go back and look up my files again. Only to come back saying that they don't have any record of me turning it in. So they figure that my paperwork probably go mixed up with someone else's stuff or it got lost somewhere. Right now I'm thinking to myself, "great you guys just screwed me over." Since now I don't have a place to stay for next year. Fortunately, they managed to locate me another apartment. So now instead of rooming with 3 other people whom I know I am rooming with 2 complete strangers, thanks again Aaron for deciding to move with me to the other apartment to be my roomate, and one person that I know.
Although one thing that makes no sense at all is that the housing staff did receive my deposit for the apartment. If they lost my paperwork wouldn't they have lost my check as well since it was with my paperwork? Just something that I find puzzling, that they got the check and still screw me over. So basically that was my whole day, we got finished getting everything settled at around 5ish I think. That is my bad day. Anyway if you managed to read my entire rant then congrats and thanks.
